Grading the 2019 MLS Kits

The start of the MLS season is just around the corner, the first game kicking off on Saturday, March 2. Over the last few weeks, different teams have released at least one new kit, primary or secondary, to start the season with a fresh look. I am going to dive into those kits and grade them compared to their previous look and other teams.

As the postseason of MLS creeps its way into the conference semifinals, I look back at a season full of upsets, comebacks and true heroic stories. Yet when I attempt to talk about all this excitement with fellow soccer lovers, no one understands, or frankly cares, about what MLS has to offer.

“#BeardFacts: Promise to Union Hulk fulfilled as Rosenberry Returns”

Last season, Adam Cann promised Union Hulk, one of the – quite literally – largest Union supporters, that he would produce #BeardStats for Keegan Rosenberry. Back then, #AmishMessi was the starting right back for the Union but he has since been traded to Colorado Rapids.

As a result, Adam never fulfilled his promise.

But I have.

Beloved by many Union fans for his local ties and abilities on the field, it was difficult to see Rosenberry go to Colorado after the 2018 season even if Philly got a lot of allocation money in return.

Now that the former No. 3 overall draft pick is returning to Philadelphia with his new team, I knew that somebody needed to resolve the still-unanswered question: How often did Keegan Rosenberry sport his spectacular beard, and is the beard one of the secrets to his teams’ success?
